When having a gas cooker installed in your home, it is important for you to be aware of the gas cooker installation regulations. Making sure that these gas cooker installation regulations are followed will help to ensure a safe installation and a safe appliance.
Gas cooker installation regulations can include:
– Only a Gas Safe engineer must install your gas cooker.
– All freestanding cookers with a high level grill require a minimum of 610mm clearance above the grill.
– A minimum of 20mm is required either side of the appliance.
– Due to new gas cooker fitting regulations any appliance installed must contain a Flame Supervision Device. The device detects if the flame is extinguished and cuts off the gas supply. This affects flats and multi-dwelling buildings which include dual purpose properties i.e. flats above shops. It does not include detached, semi-detached or terraced houses.
Call us now to book an appointment and our gas cooker engineer can visit your home at a suitable date and time for you.
